I gained my business experience while riding the rollercoaster of founding, running and growing a company.
In 2009, I co-founded Fountain, an award winning digital marketing agency based in the East of England. I served as Managing Director until 2020, and again in 2023-2024, before stepping back from the business (and out into a brand new world of consulting, coaching and board roles) in early 2025.
At Fountain, my role evolved with the growth of the company – from early days hands-on, working with clients and growing our services, to the growth of our team, effective management and organisational leadership.
The skills and experiences I gained range across as aspects of running a small-to-med in a broad range of areas including:
- Building and evolving a working culture in which individuals and teams can flourish, where success and wellbeing go hand-in-hand
- A form of leadership that is not only about bringing out the best in people, but igniting their capacity to bring out the best in others
- Implementing processes and making space to ensure high quality decision making
- Balancing risk-reward ratios of investing in growth, identifying actions required to avoid tough decisions in the future – and when tough decisions are unavoidable, taking action with empathy and clarity
- Guiding teams through changes to our company, our industry and our services – understanding the impact on individuals of change and disruption, building the scaffolding they need to be supported through those moments and recognising when that support is no longer needed
- Recruiting, interviewing and hiring to build a team with the right people, onboarding them with a focus on the values and culture of the business
- Collaborating to achieve consensus and recognising the psychology behind motivation
- Empowering people throughout their careers, understanding the need to give people ownership and make room for their creativity
- Addressing interpersonal challenges between colleagues with kindness and empathy
- Achieving B-Corp certification, setting high standards and achieving a gender pay gap of just 0.03% across the business
- Mentoring and coaching
- Delivering workshops for learning and development days on everything from creative
Leading a growing business turned me into a passionate believer in the power of organisational culture – a topic which I have given multiple keynotes on, have co-hosted a podcast about, and in which I have supported other organisations with consultancy and workshop facilitation. In collaboration with UEA, I launched a series of events about culture, around which have built a community of local businesses with similar values.

I have supported numerous fellow agency founders, especially women, through formal and informal mentoring, since 2018. And beyond agency land, have worked with other businesses and organisations to deliver workshops that are about bringing teams to creatively problem solve together.
I have sat on the Advisory Board of Norwich Business School at UEA since 2018, where I join other business leaders who are passionate about the university, business school and its links to the local business community. Since early 2023 I have supported Higson Consulting as a Board Advisor, working with the CEO & founder to set growth goals and be a sounding board for matters relating to operations and people. In 2025 I am working with a local dance studio in Norwich, Copperdot, to support the founder as she builds a hub for dance and health.
Beyond all of this, I’m also a creative: I studied drama at university, and was part of setting up a touring theatre company after I graduated. I now write fiction, and am working hard alongside my wonderful literary agent to forge a path towards getting published.
